Having a ball! Jones Bros and Corwen Football Club extend relationship with kit sponsorship 20th Apr 2022

Jones Bros Civil Engineering UK has continued to throw its support behind Corwen Football Club

It is the extension of a relationship that started back in 2018 when the Ruthin-headquartered company helped provide two sets of shirts for Corwen Under-7s.

Connections between Corwen FC and Jones Bros include staff who play in senior teams, as well as employees’ children, who are members of junior academy sides.

In recent years, Corwen FC, which can trace its history to 1877, has built a well-regarded junior academy for both boys and girls, and the backing received from Jones Bros has helped provide important equipment for the U10s.

Hefin Lloyd-Davies, contracts director for Jones Bros, said: “Supporting the communities where the company operates and its employees live, is very important.

“It is terrific that Jones Bros has been able to continue helping Corwen, who provide important opportunities to young people in the area.

“Team sport is such an effective way of helping children develop skills and confidence, as well as build friendships.”

Corwen U10s manager, Huw Jones, was thrilled to see Jones Bros renew its support of the club.

Huw said: “A strong family ethos is important to us in Corwen and at the football club, so being sponsored by a family-run company like Jones Bros is fantastic.

“To have Jones Bros assist the club like they have done since 2018 is wonderful, and hopefully the relationship will flourish for many more years.”

Established in the 1950s, Jones Bros owns one of the largest plant fleets in the UK and employs approximately 500 people.

The company is currently working on contracts in various sectors including highways, flood and marine defence, waste management and renewable energy around the UK.

The company runs an award-winning apprenticeship scheme, which has produced nearly 50 per cent of its current workforce, with many of its senior managers having started out as apprentices or in a trainee role. It has recruited more than 100 apprentices during the past three years.
