Graduates invited to construct a career with Jones Bros 5th Aug 2014
Graduates in a range of disciplines are being offered an opportunity to start their careers with a leading North Wales civil engineering contractor.
Ruthin-based Jones Bros, which has a long-established apprenticeship and workforce development programme, is seeking recruits to fulfil a number of new graduate opportunities.
Successful applicants could find themselves working on a diverse range of civil engineering projects across the UK, including renewable energy schemes, coastal protection, marinas and highways construction.
The graduate trainees will gain skills and experience in areas such as tendering, project and site management, while progressing in careers such as quantity surveying, estimating and civil engineering.
Applicants should have a relevant higher education certificate in civil engineering, maths, quantity surveying or construction, as well as a UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Some work experience within the engineering industry, for example through a summer of industrial placement, is desirable.

“Some of the most senior and long-serving members of our team have worked their way up from similar positions.”
The posts include opportunities for professional development through Jones Bros with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and the Institution of Civil Engineers.
Jones Bros’ most recent graduate, 24-year-old Daniel Ffrench, has been hard at work developing a nine-turbine wind farm in Middlewick, Essex.
After graduating in 2010, Daniel struggled to find a job due to the recession, but was given a break last summer after being recruited for Jones Bros’ eastern England operations.
“Working for Jones Bros is a dream come true,” Daniel said. “I have learned more in the first few weeks than several years at university, it is brilliant and to say I am on cloud nine is an understatement.
“I consider myself really fortunate to be working on a wind farm project as it is fascinating. I’m also really interested in coastal defence work, which I know Jones Bros also specialises in.”
Qualifications required for consideration for the graduate placements include a Higher National Certificate, Higher National Diploma, degree/masters qualification in a relevant area of study.
